News Update May 2009 - Latvia
Dear Friends,
What an exciting time we live in with the tremendous opportunity to serve and reach our generation with the transforming and empowering gospel of Jesus Christ.
Evangelism is depopulating hell in order to populate heaven. George Washington Carver said, “No individual has the right to come into this world and leave it without changing it.” R.G. Smith said, “No individual has the right to hear the gospel twice when millions have not heard it once.”
We just returned from the nation of Latvia (former Russia). In Latvia a sobering reality has replaced the elation of independence. The economy is in serious need of a boost and the gap between rich and poor is rapidly widening. The partial disintegration of society has left a moral vacuum – economic growth takes priority. Solutions for the vexing ethnic question are needed. The anxious Slav community comprises 40% of the population, yet they are finding themselves marginalized because of present reactions to past Soviet wrongs.
There is a great hunger in the churches for biblical teaching and training.
We drove from Estonia to Latvia and did a series of meetings in 3 cities. Talsi, Liepaja and Vinspiels. The people of Latvia are very sincere and hungry for the Lord. The pastors are very honest and hungry to see God do something new in their nation. The hospitality was outstanding. We were blessed to see God touch so many lives in the meetings. Many gave their lives to Jesus; many were healed of different sickness and diseases. Many were crying and were touched at Ilke’s ladies meeting. It was amazing to hear the testimonies of different ones.
We thank God for what he did and are looking forward to our tour in the Baltic States next year. (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) We are expecting great things. Special thanks to all our intercessors, those that are faithfully praying for us. This is the result of your payers and support.
We are currently in Belgium getting ready to do a conference this weekend in the second largest church in the nation.

Continue to reach forward in Him.
